Allee Bleue is located on a beautiful wine estate and offers breathtaking views of the valley. The menu offers everything from platters to picnic baskets. My favourite items to order are their cold meats platter and their sparkling wine. Perfect place to enjoy a great picnic and quiet afternoon.
Private getaway from any of the touristic area! Had breakfast as part of our 2 nights stay; and I love how exclusive it feels! Perfect to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings, as if you own the entire place!
This was our last stop on the Franschhoek Winetram Purpleline experience. As the tram arrived, the restaurant was busy closing and we desparately were seeking something chocolatey and sweet. We asked the restaurant manager if he would allow us to do takeaway brownies and we would then have it in the winetasting courtyard across the restaurant. He was very kind enough to allow us to do so and even packed real spoons. These brownies however were not good. Dry, cold and way too much chili. But I will give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, that if we consumed it at lunchtime, inhouse; then it probably would have been better. Hence the generous scoring.
