Myself and a group of my friends decided to do an all day vineyard hopping experience via the Franschhoek Winetram. We picked the purple line and Boschendal was our first stop. We were starving (we underestimated our driving time from the city and didn’t end up having breakfast as planned in the Franschhoek city centre before boarding the tram). So whatever food was on offer at our first wine tasting experience, we grabbed with both hands. We ordered a veg pizza to share amongst the four of us, since we wanted to do a sit down lunch at the next stop and just needed something to tie us over. Since we ordered from the wine tasting venue, I am not sure where exactly the pizza was made – but this is the only Boschendal restaurant with pizzas on their menu and thus assume it was brought over from here. It was really really good (granted we were ravenous). Thin, crispy bases. Wood fired. With the freshest ingredients (and not stingy at all with the toppings – 3 cheese, pesto and rocket). Pizza was half consumed by the time I remembered to take a pic (we were really really very hungry, lol).
