The tasting room hides the picturesque moutain views and you enclosed in a setting of woods, leather chairs, fireplace, display cabinets of bottled wine and the wooden barrels view. One tasting option only with 6 varients included. Served with a tiny piece of bread and no option of light cheese or snacks, advised this only available at restaurant, but not told you can do tastings there. The wine selection is good and reasonable priced.Do take note of the shop, they serve some decadent sweet treats.
Through the gate and I can’t breathe. I’ve never seen a vineyard this beautiful, rows upon rows of vines waiting to be wines, enfolding all sorts of flowers in full bloom. It’s never too early to start a tasting, and 10 AM gives us ample time to explore. There’s a small art gallery, and there’s a even a live sculptor who is slowly bringing his work to life. They have hiking trails for the more physically incline, but it’s hard to justify leaving the cozy tasting room.
My trip to South Africa has suprised me everyday. Starting from breathtaking views to super tasty food. This was the best wineyard I saw in my whole trip. Got the best wine, best food and best views. I am surprised, how can a place be so beautiful and be perfect in everything they serve.
We stopped by to buy wine and sat down later for cafe au lait and desert at the restaurant under the huge beautiful trees. We weren’t disappointed – a taste sensation. The white chocolate truffles are a must-have item on the menu. Management and staff were exceptionally courteous and friendly. A must visit.
This has to be one of the prettiest wine farms we visited in the area. The setting is amazing, and even though they were busy with renovations (which seems to be the norm for the winter, understandably) we still had a great time. The wines that La Motte offers are on par with some of the best, and even though they are widely commercially available, it was nice to ask a couple of questions about the estate and the wines they produce. Surprisingly not all the wines are produced with grapes from the farm, and a lot are sourced from surrounding areas. Really great wine tasting!
