Was not even greeted when we walked in, we were pushed past by all the waitresses while standing in the middle of the restaurant as we were unsure where to sit. A free table came up and when we asked to sit there we were told there was a waiting list but there was nobody in charge of the waiting list. No food on anybody’s tables. Poor choice of breakfast menu. Bought some bags of coffee by literally grabbing the waitress’ arm and asking her if we could pay just so we could get out of there. It is not that difficult to have somebody say “sorry it’s really busy this morning, can I take your name and would you mind sitting over there to wait for a table”. Will not be going back there.
Magnificent coffee on the patio overlooking the great sculpture garden. The open sandwich for breakfast was absolutely magnificent. Coffee cured trout, crispy salmon skin and fried capers on creme freche and sour dough with a granadilla vinaigrette was one of the nicest breakfasts we have ever had. Well done and we will be back tomorrow.
Definitely the best coffee in Franschhoek! And with the great food, incredible views and friendly staff, what’s not to love about the place..?!
