Terra del Capo is the Italian range produced by Anthonij Rupert. His passion for all things Italian is showcased in the the Italian-inspired tasting room. Upstairs is beautifully decorated with plush lounge areas for private tastings with an elegant tasting counter where you can admire the beautiful views of Franschhoek. With the focus on Italian wines the tastings are done in flights with wines with similar properties grouped together. We opted for ‘The TDC’ (Terra Del Capo) range which includes Pinot Grigio, Sangiovese and Arné. The Pinot Grigio is refreshing,light and zesty. Sangiovese is one of Italy’s unique grape varietals. It is a good food wine with delicious plum spice on the palate. Arné is a red blend that marries Merlot and Sangiovese for an elegant wine with a long lingering aftertaste. All excellent wines and a real treat!Each wine was served with its unique qualities, it was like drops of heaven and definitely worth the visit.
