This boutique winery is beautiful with trimmings of bushes in decorative shapes, along with a gorgeous backdrop of the mountain ranges. It is named after the art of topiary and was originally a fruit farm until a French winemaker built a cellar and started producing delicious wine with french flair and passion. We enjoyed our wine tasting outside on the patio with beautiful views of the manicured garden. We tasted the Rosé which is a dry style rosé made from Shiraz. Refreshing and delicious with a light salmon colour with hints of rasberries on the palate. Shiraz has an intense spicy flavour, yet smooth and well-balanced. We ended of with a Cabernet Sauvignon – an elegant wine with sweet black currant aromas but not a complex wine at all. A winery with pure comfort and tranquility with a stunning view. A true gem!
Lovely wine farm with a beautiful view of the valley. We were treated to a lovely experience as we were the only ones there at the time. Topiary is owned by a couple of French guys that produce some amazing red wines with the Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon being amazing. It was a shame that the barrel fermented Chardonnay wasn’t available but I’ll be back to get it. Worth the visit for the amazing wines.
