Food is really not great, had the burgers which were pretty tasteless and the homemade buns were a sorry excuse for bread rolls. the decor looks old and tired and needs to be redone.
Been a long time favourite, from celebrating birthday parties to romantic dining at this warm and cosy Dutch restaurant in the heart of Stellenbosch! The food has ALWAYS been superb, a menu that caters for a wide variety, well priced, not too expensive not average either, to relax with a glass of wine, chat to the attentive owner, enjoy good food and dive into the divine cheesecake! Will always be back for more!
We thought to take our French colleague out to take the wildness of Africa. Most places we wanted to go were booked so we ventured through the streets and found this place in Ryneveld. It wasn’t full – which should have been a sign! We decided to have dinner because of all the wild meat they have on their menu. The waiter was super friendly and helpful, the restaurant itself feels very old and needs a make over. The food sadly was not great. I ate the springbok which I have come to love however it wasn’t cooked medium and it really didn’t take great. My boyfriend ate the Kudu which he said was nice but not great. Our colleague ate the wilderbeast which he said he thoroughly enjoyed. Their wine is over priced and the feeling of the restaurant was not great at all. Can’t see myself ever going back
