Shocking! Firstly, the menu online does not match the menu in store! The fish is full of bones and overall tastes bland. Over priced in my opinion! Won’t buy from there again.
I was disgusted with the behaviour of a guy working at the till at the Mitchell’s plain garage fisheries. One of the ladies tried to assist me by explaining the menu in Xhosa and this guy got irritated and said you holding up the queen with your language. What a racist comment to a customer. I’ve laid a complaint with their management but had to call for a second time before I received an apology in WhatsApp from a manager. Disgusting. Unprofessional behaviour by an employee will kill yo business.Avril
Since this restaurant was on Uber eats tried it a few times. Let me start with the good, the fish and chips parcel is usually a good choice and have enjoyed it on many occasions. However the same can’t be said about the calamari or the gatsbys, clalamari was very rubbery both times I ordered it. So I decided to stop in at the branch one day as I was nearby and it put me off ordering from here completely. Restaurant looks very unkept and rundown. The staff didn’t help them any further as they were rather rude and unfriendly.
I had a craving for calamari and saw Calamari Fisheries was on Uber Eats so I placed an order. I always check Zomato first but maybe it was the calamari craving that made me impulse order from here. Had I looked at the reviews first, I don’t think I would have ordered but I’m glad I did. My delivery was very quick and the food arrived fresh and hot. The chips were a little oily but then again aren’t they always when you order fish and chips. The calamari was really good though, it wasn’t too oily and it was still very soft and definitely hit the spot for my craving.
