What a cute little place tucked away in the hood. We went for breakfast and were thoroughly impressed. A great sized brekkie for a reasonable price (and on the entertainer app we only paid for one). All round a fab little place with delish food and we can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu.

A really poor experience at The Pink Olive Restaurant at Starke Ayres in Sunningdale today. We waited about 10 min before anyone came to take our drinks order or bring us a menu, another 15 minutes for our drinks to arrive and 25 minutes for our meal. We ordered the butter chicken which at R68 was a total rip off. A minuscule bowl of curry and a small portion of rice served inside a popadum (which made it soggy and revolting). The curry didn’t taste anything like curry. It was yellow. That’s as close to curry as it came. When we complained to the owner about the poor service she said that they were very busy and that’s why the service was poor. How does that excuse the food? We definitely will not be going back.
Nice venue BUT the chef needs training again. My grand daughter had the Haloumi and AVo toastie which was the dish worth eating and looked and tasted delicious. Nice fresh chips on the side.My wife had the Dagwood burger which was DRY and uninteresting. Chips were the best part of that dish.I had the Lamb Rogan Josh, the most expensive dish on the menu and what was probably the worst I have ever had.The dish was served with a Pita Bread cut in 4 and arrived with a bowl of curry sauce with a couple of Lamb Bones in it, virtually no meat on the bones and really uninteresting in every respect. The best part of the whole meal was a fried egg which was meant to be part of my wife’s burger but ordered separately, was fried beautifully, and this I had as a side dish.I am afraid the experience was very disappointing. The service was however adequate.I think they should stick to breakfasts, haven’t learnt to mess up the eggs yet. Conclusion: Not keen to go back again and pay for poor quality food. Life is too short and too expensive to eat lousy grub.
