In all honesty I was originally not expecting anything from the place. I had heard that their decor on their outdoor terrace was absolutely gorgeous and that it’s a must for relaxed drinks with someone special and though this is very true, we ran into big issues. [We sat outside]To begin with, it was the evening and the outdoor area isn’t as well lit as it should be. There weren’t even any candles on the table to provide at least some light. Then randomly a rat (the size of a rather large hamster) scurried past us. Though I wasn’t too phased by it but more grossed out but they’re nuisances and I totally understand how difficult it is to get rid of them so that fine but gross. Anyway, got my wine was pretty content so I ordered a cheese platter. Most disappointing- the cheeses weren’t at room temperature (some of them should be served at room temp) and majority of the softer spreadable cheeses were fridge cold. Now cheese platters are often served with spreads like jam or something to cut through the cheese. This one was not so it was just a plate of extreme dry crackers and too hard and too cold cheeses. And when we requested that we’d like to order something else instead- as we weren’t happy- we were essentially told that we aren’t allowed to and that they’d rather us help them fix the cheese platter to our liking. I had several issues with the way they handled it beginning with the fact that they pretty much told me I’m not allowed to order anything else because it does not suit them. Instead they could’ve just told us that we’d still be charged and let us order something else. I explicitly told them I don’t want it anymore however it was indirectly forced upon me. All they had to do was tell us that we’d be charged for it (for which we weren’t the slightest bit bothered about) and let me order something else. The entire encounter put me off of ordering from their kitchen. However maybe you might have better luck. The ambience however is worth giving this place a visit. For me though strictly drinks.
Friendly staff that go the extra mile and the cocktails are really good. I highly recommend the beef fillet and my husband had the curry wasn’t spicy enough for him just a personal preference, but overall a pleasant dinner would highly recommend and will definitely be back.
