Excellent service and a willingness to help by staff has seen the role of the ship expand over its life so that today it is far more than just a pub. In fact the ship of today can now be considered, an information bureau, job centre, money exchange, phone shop,ticket outlet, internet cafe and entertainment centre. The Ships massively popular kitchen, serving modern British food as well as popular snack food from around the world, has proved a huge success. This is due in part to the excellent quality of the food itself and the expansion of the terrace area in the square which provided an relaxed environment in which to eat.
