If you are visiting the Theatre Real for a performance – combine your day/evening at the Cafe del Real, which is directly opposite in the Isabel Square. Enjoy a cake and coffee or something more filling. The menu is very comprehensive.

Went for a wine and was received friendly. Staff cleaned a table so I didn’t have to sit one a barstool. Bit art deco, small stairs to a halfopen 2nd floor. Wine OK, bit pricey but well, it’s opposit Opéra!

Stumbled upon the place with friends. Very friendly staff and superb service. Cozy place, not very touristy. Definitely recommend visiting.

A classic cafe with a great location for sitting outdoors enjoying a cappuccino, nice lunch selections and great interior.

Very reasonable prices, particularly good quality mojitos and lovely staff. Enjoyed it so much the first evening we included a second visit in our plans for the next day! I fully expect to come back again tomorrow!

Nice cafe to sit outside taking in the atmosphere of the Opera square. Spanish guitarists were playing nearby. The sangria was good and packed a punch! Staff were good. We ordered two drinks and got a bowl of salted crisps included.
