Tong ni BBQ offers Chinese food which is authentic but not very much in line with Sri Lankan taste. The fried rice ordered was sticky. And the cuttlefish was ok. The fried chicken was ordinary to say the least. Maybe for Chinese pallette this is a place to be but not for the Sri Lanka and who likes spicy Chinese.
Not the classiest looking place but it’s really fun and gives you the feel of “cooking with friends/family”. Torturous to wait till the meat is cooked but absolutely worth the wait. The meat is always perfectly marinated and smells amazing!! There can be times when the waiters forget to help you or come check how the cooking is going which can cause everything to burn. So watch out!
I am not sure why this place is not famous, so far the favorite food place in Colombo for me. Food is awesome. specially their Chili Chicken. Their quantity is very much compared the amount we pay. Less crowded and service is all right. Definitely must try place in Colombo.PS: Food is oily, so this is not for weak hearts 😉
A good place to hangout with friends. Sticking to their BBQ items is a good idea as I found other dishes plain compared to it. Their dumplings are also good.
Went here a couple of times and I would say this is one of the best authentic Chinese restaurant in town. Friendly staff quit efficient and never disappointed
