Egg roti, chicken curry and maldive fish sambol. This for breakfast feels like heaven. My favourite place during my Uni days. They also have a staple fried rice and biriyani options. Always busy, at the same time affordable. They have a 1st floor with A/C
Been here for some fried rice. reasonable price for the portion they give. This is one of those places that will save the day if there’s no other option. Quick service – taste was average to good
I’ve been going to this place since my school days and I must say this is one of the best place to have your lunch or dinner in Sri Lankan style. Their Egg roti with Chicken curry is my favourite. Nevertheless their buriyani is delightful.Staff is super friendly and really helpful. Even if you are a firstimer here they will make you fell like that they’ve known you for a long time.Fast service, quality food and value for money combination is what you see here.
This place is more famous among teenagers coz it’s located near two boys schools in Colombo.. Decent food in here and give a quite a decent portion which makes the money you pay very valuable.. Famous for their Biriyani, but if you go that way towards the evening, you can enjoy piping hot parata and egg roti with the yummy curries they serve or certainly ask for a chicken masala and the dish will not let it down..
This is one of the few restaurants open till late night (1 a.m.) and reopens in the wee hours at 4 a.m.I have had the privilege of taking takeaways of short eats during the fasting season. At other times, I had also had some other short eats or rice and curry.I have eaten at many restaurants including Al Maas, Grand Pila, Fayas and Muhammadiya. Although they are muslim restaurants, the food they serve no longer tastes like muslim food, instead they are jaffna’s version of muslim food. I was craving to find a place that sells food that tastes like real muslim food, and Raheemas filled the need. Kudos to you.Raheemas also provides a lovely cup of tea. I always order a strong tea, and the tea rich in flavoursome kahata leaves a pleasant taste in our mouth even after you leave the place. Please don’t change your brand. The customer service is also very good. Usually one would find only one person attending one table, but at Raheemas that is not always the case, as I have found I was attended to by at least 2 waiters.I Â didn’t give full marks for two reasons.a) When people come to eat short eats, they are served with buns, vadai, patti, samosa and rolls in a platter, but one important item is not served. That is sauce. Surely they could make an imitation sauce with salt, sugar, vinegar, chillie powder, water and corn flour. The vadai is also served dry with no complimentary pol sambol.b) The lovely tea should be served to customers in a tea cup. However, at Raheemas, tea is served in a coffee cup, so we are left craving for more tea , and not feeling like we have taken any tea at all.Prices wise, all their items are rather reasonable. Their buriyani being their signatory dish that draws so much crowd.
