One of my favourite hotels when it comes to its architecture and food. Owned by the same management as gallery cafe you know that they have the taste for great food and space. Tintagel offers an amazing menu. A variety of seafood , meats and veg dishes. My personal favourite is belly pork. Trust me when I say this, you will not find a dish like this in Colombo. The meat just melts in you mouth and it’s divine. This dish is topped with a poached egg which adds more of a moist texture to this melt in the mouth soft meat. It’s like a piece of art which sadly you want to break and dig in. They offer a few dishes of the dessert section as gallery but if you do go to Tintagel make sure to try out the cream pot of Caramel which now you get in 3 different flavours. It’s basically a liquid for of caramel with a silky liquid texture. The dish is so unique and is probably one of favourite desserts in the city. Price ? Yes it’s a tad bit high but is it affordable YES And the price you pay is what you get. The food the service and ambience is all amazing. Make sure you stop by Tintagel and at least try the desserts. You won’t go wrong!
The pork belly was excellent and the poached egg on top was a nice touch. They really hit a six with the dessert though. The via paradiso which is a decadent mix of tiramisu, meringue & dark chocolate mousse is one of the best desserts I’ve had in Lanka.
