The pastry items are on the expensive side but expected given its in a 5 star hotel, The home made sandwiches are very good and filling. Hot chocolate was ordered along with an Iced coffee which was solid but can be better. Service is 1st class and have that classy feeling all round.

I went there for throw a surprise birthday party to my bestie’s girlfriend. Mr. Asela is the one who helped us to placed the order and Deco the cake with candles. Friendly staff members. Yummy drinks. Yummy cakes.

By chance I found this neat little coffee shop in Cinnamon Lakeside. Prices are reasonable. Even better than some overrated coffee shops in Colombo. Tried the Iced Coffee, Caramel Frappe & Chocolate Frappe. Tasty coffee. Good ambience. Clean restaurant.

As a very frequent visitor I am very fond of the staff. They are friendly, accommodating and would go the extra mile to make sure the customers are satisfied. And, this is not just for the regular customers. Their chocolate chip cake is one of the best you’ll have. Compared to the many fancy home based bakers out there, their cake prices are reasonable. Their red velvet cake which used to be good has lost it’s standard drastically. At goodies, you also have the option of getting your own sandwich made for Rs. 400 net and it is fully worth the price. They also have a range of frappés and lattes which are almost always unavailable. For cinnamon lakeside standards, they certainly have the capacity to up their game.

Located at the lobby level of Cinnamon Lakeside, Goodies does in fact have quite the selection of delectable goodies.Let me start off by saying that the prices are extremely reasonable in most cases, especially considering that this is a pastry shop at one of Colombo’s leading hotels. The quality of the food tends to vary, depending on what you order.Good things first! Their latte was one of the best cups of coffee I’ve had in awhile, which is saying a lot since I regularly frequent most coffee shops. It’s strong aromatic blend is just the thing to appease any coffee enthusiast. However, having said that, the cold coffees don’t have the same vibrant flavour as it’s counterpart since they are heavily sweetened. The Iced coffee taste strongly of Condensed milk, and was unbearably sweet. The caramel latte, wasn’t as intense, despite being topped with whipped cream but sadly wasn’t as chilled as I would have liked. Most of these range between Rs. 280-300, which is a fair amount considering most places charge nearly twice as much. The food was also rather inconsistent, with the savouries and pastries being pretty average. But I’ve quite enjoyed their chocolates and cupcakes in the past. The tandoori chicken sandwich also was creamy and delicious, but the potato chips were extremely flat. Only about two pieces had any crunch left to it. The quiche was a little dry and lacked the creaminess it should have. They also didn’t know what quiche was on display, and after a bit of probing and a call to the kitchens, we were informed that it was either chicken or mutton. My friend didn’t mind either, and ventured to try a slice, only to discover at the end of our meal, on the point of billing, that it was pork. This was extremely careless on the staff’s point, as she abstains from pork and was rather disconcerted by the incident.I have to mention in particular the fact that a 500ml bottle of water cost us Rs.250. Quite absurd considering that for an additional forty rupees, you could get yourself a fancy coffee. I believe the staff should inform the customer of this as a courtesy, giving them the opportunity to consider their options. Would you seriously pay such an exorbitant amount for a small bottle of water, despite the hotel branding? I personally felt as though it should have included magical healing properties for that price! The staff receive an A for effort. As mentioned above, at least they tried to figure out the meat in the quiche. Also, the waiter who served us agreed to charge my friend’s phone, but we overheard him getting scolded by the Manager. When we inquired about it, he politely shrugged it off and told us not to worry about it.It’s a shame that we experienced so many negative aspects as some of their items are par excellence and affordable. I really do request the Management to instruct the staff to inform the customer about the cost for water. I’ve seen it done in many high end restaurants, and believe it is only fair.
