Once a landmark for food now just an optional food joint.Been visiting this restaurant since I was 12 . for the past 10years the quality of food and service has gone down drastically.FOOD is served by staff who really don’t care if you eat or not, what you order will not be exactly in plate .some one has to step up and clear the confusion for this dying restaurant or else sadly we would have to hear horrendous reviews for this once a landmark.
Came here for dinner (31/8) with 2 foreign friends to give them a taste of Sri Lankan cuisine.Everything about this place was simply super. In fact, even the price of a Dinner buffet ticket (Rs. 1900) was less than other places.The servers gave us a table which had a window seat view of the splendid harbor at night. The food spread was a mix of Sri Lankan and Indian. I cannot say about the non veg items as we ate vegetarian food.They did have a good variety of food here, but I’m not giving them full marks because they had turned down the heat. My foreign friends who looked forward to savouring the hot and spicy Sri Lankan food were surprised that it was not hot. As such, I advised them to avoid star class hotels if they wanted to savour the real taste of Sri Lankan food. These hotel people are destroying the image of Sri Lankan food by compromising on the flavours. They MUST remember that foreigners are used to eating Mexican food, so Asian food is not a big deal for them.
Shockingly awful. Claims to be a Sri Lankan restaurant, ‘try the devilled prawns’ suggested the waiter. So we did. Hard, over cooked prawns in what tasted like nasty uncle bens stir fry sweet and sour sauce with added sugar. Disgusting. Everything else we ordered was equally bad.
Good place for someone who likes sri lankan cuisine for affordable price. . Lunch buffet 750.00 with one dessert. Even the buffet was small The food was tasty. can enjoy foods in a calm environment. staff is also very pleasant & active.
Well I had a takeaway chicken lunch packet, place is very nice, though the employees are not so welcoming. Food was average but quit nice, compared to other Colombo places I have gone to the vegetable and chicken curry servings are quite small. Overall a average feeling.
