I have been frequenting this restaurant for close to five years now, mainly for dinner takeways, and occasionally for dine-ins. While the food has never been spectacular it has remained dependable, albeit slightly overpriced. What has surprised me in recent months is the quality of service. The gentlemen at the reception​ have remained arrogant and surly throughout, but lately, even those serving food, have taken on this attitude towards their customers and diners. One of them was shockingly rude to a visiting elderly gentleman from abroad who accompanied me, on my recommendation, to dinner here a couple of nights ago. I am not sure if this is a trend, a larger malaise, or the result of employees being overworked, but this is the latest in a series of experiences I’ve had here.

Earlier this place used to specialize in Jaffna food. They still do, but they have now included variety. I have had breakfast here as well as fruit juices.During my last visit, there were plenty of fresh fruits in the display cabinet. Although they had advertised that Fruit Salad with and without ice cream was served, they refused to make the order. Their excuse was that they didn’t have pre-cut fruits to make fruit salad. They were NOT WILLING to use the fresh fruits on display to make the fruit salad, Instead they said, they can make ONLY fruit juice.Hence I ordered passion fruit juice. I was somewhat disappointed as the proportion of the water to the fruit concentrate was too great to enjoy. Price wise they are OK.
Not sure why this place has got a low rating. Generally my experience here has been good. This is a small restaurant situated opposite St. Peter’s College in Bambalapitiya. They cater Sri Lankan and Indian food. My favourites are the following: String hoppers with Vendhaya Kolambu and Mutton Poriyal, Egg hoppers, Milk hoppers, and Crab curry. They also have the usual chicken curry and other stuff. Their service is quite fast and simple.
