  Landing up at Xilaton was more of an instantaneous decision than a planned one but I can say it with much conviction that their food was nothing short of delectable. Location – not familiar with the country so I’d rely on Google maps. Ambience – they have a pretty huge area to themselves. A parking compound that can easily house around 30 cars or more in a go is not something I’ve commonly seen at a standalone restaurant. Walk in and they’ve reception followed by 3-4 huge rooms that can easily accommodate around 50-60 guests in one go. The setup is simple and classy with yellow lighting and tables aligned in a way that leaves you ample amount of space to move around. Bar towards one end of their biggest room is equally well set up. A few wall hanging paintings and vases form a part of their décor which isn’t flashy the slightest bit. Staff and service – their manager was helpful in helping us place the order as he came up with recommendations as per our liking. Food was brought to our table after a not-so-very long wait but I must admit, the wait was worth every bit. On the whole, the staff is pretty warm and courteous so that serves the purpose. Food and menu – quite an extensive menu with numerous options to pick and choose from. Since we stuck with their suggestions it didn’t take us long to decide our order. Fried chicken balls – round chicken balls coated with something that was similar to fried noodles was served with a mildly sweet sauce. It tasted slightly bland on the inside but the sauce made up for it a wee bit. There were 8 pieces of those so no problems with the quantity there. Singapore fried noodles – with minced chicken pieces mixed well this was brilliantly done. Moderately spicy, optimum salt with good amount of vegetables ensured it did not lack the slightest bit on the taste front. Fried rice with sea food – fish and prawns along with well boiled rice and veggies had a fabulous flavour to it on the whole. Team it up with one of their gravy offerings and you wouldn’t regret this at all. Hot garlic chicken – don’t be deceived by the name. It isn’t one of those maddeningly hot/spicy dish that will make your ears let out steam but one that’ll elevate the flavour of the rice/noodles that you’ve ordered alongside. Perfect levels of spice and a fairly dominant flavour of garlic with succulent chunks of chicken make it an absolute winner. I can’t not mention their astonishingly huge quantity of each and every dish. We were 4 of us and all of this did suffice. What was even more heartening to see was the bill which summed up to less than 4200/- LKR. Consider this place a sure shot bet when you wish to dig into good Chinese food.

  I went to Xilaton for family dinner outing. Food was quite good and service too. I felt if the can improve the ambience of the place it’ll be great. Nice place though.

  Not what we expected!Food was very salty. I would say it’s not worth compared to the price I paid. Food is not really bad but compared to same rated Chinese restaurants in Colombo Xilaton is very far. I would not go again.
