This is a very cozy outlet in Colombo in the floating market Pettah. It’s good to have a coffee n some snacks n have conversations with your friends n loved ones.It has self service but the attendants are very polite n helpful. There are a lot of shops in Pettah market so u can shop, do some swan boating n then head to Testa for a delicious burger n a soft drink.Thank you guys for an wonderful evening.
I don’t know whether it was a bad day, but on the day I popped in here, it was covered with flies and smelled like a toilet. The staff members are either deaf or blind because they don’t even bother to look at the customer waiting in front of the counter. They are only trained to nod their head yes or no, for anything you ask. Also more questions can piss them off.Oh btw they don’t serve hoppers (Even the menu here says so). I couldn’t ask for the availability of their other food since the guy gave me a murderous look. They don’t seem to enjoy having customers in their restaurant so why bother?
Located on the polluted Pettah floating market site this place seemed popular with the locals. The food looked authentic but I was not game enough to order any as it looked a little tired. The Manager was very accomodating and we settled for a simple coconut juice which was good.
As you take a leisurely walk along the creaky wooden boards on Pettah’s floating market, you’ll eventually wind that walk up at Testa Bake House. Styled like a wooden cabin, the place balances on Pettah’s green waters along the bustling market. Featuring open sides that overlook the market along with utilitarian furniture, you can see plenty of locals grabbing a quick bite here before they head to work. For me, visiting from India, the yellow Fanta was somewhat of a novelty (having only seen the orange version back home.) It tasted somewhat like sweet peppermint-rose water (and soon enough, I grew tired of it). We tried a couple of the local savouries – sweet tea buns stuffed with curried meat. They also have a daily specials menu along with some Chinese food. Spacious, and recommended for the vantage point it offers of the busy floating market. Might want to skip the eats.
