If you ever drop by Kollupitiya junction bus halt, this is a place that you could never miss, because Brittania Fried Chicken is right behind that bus halt.I was on my way to grab a Kottu from Galaxy Taste Hotel,  the neighbor of Brittania Fried Chicken and suddenly changed my mind because of the appetizing smell that came from Brittania Fried Chicken. There were around 6 tables inside allowing around 30 people to dine at once. Brittania Fried Chicken serves a range of rice and kottu items for a reasonable price. The portions come in as normal and large and usually the price difference of these two portions varies from Rs.60 to Rs.100. I chose a Chicken Kottu large portion, since I was dining with my friend and it costed only Rs.260. It was rich with vegetables and spices in the perfect balance, but more importantly, it had plenty of chicken in it. This can be considered as the best Kottu I tasted after the ones from Hotel De Plaza and Pilawoos. Usually from places like Pilawoos and Hotel De Plaza, we get the pure version of Kottu, because they actually chop it with Roti ,meat/egg, spices and vegetables to make it tastier. Most of the other places just make it by mixing those ingredients on a hot pan. Even though the same thing happens at Brittania Fried Chicken there is something that makes it taste better. The service is fine at this place, but it lacks proper maintenance. Therefore choosing the takeaway option can be recommended.
On a particular day when all other resto were closed, this one was functional. Had talked a Lunch (rice and Curry) for takeaway. The food was good and the rice used was if better quality. Overall, I’d prefer a takeaway than sitting and dining there.
