A good Chinese restaurant in kolpity just after the liberty. Prices are good here. There’s a lot of Chinese people coming because of the authentic Chinese taste in food. May not be the best place for Sri Lankans who crave for Sri Lankanized Chinese taste. Overall the food was very good and the taste too. Service is good too. 4 stars
We walked in there for the lunch and first thing to notice was the house is full of Chinese and it was so noisy. Identical to most the high end Chinese restaurants, the reception made us disappointed in no time as they been reluctantly allowing us to find seating in upstairs. (the waiter said there are no seatings but as we go there it is all empty). And then the foods, after awhile we received our order, it was noodles (large) , belly pork and and two soft drinks and beer 500 ml. This all cost us 5000 rupees. For me personally it is not worthy dining experience. In fact it is their pace of service rather than the food which made all our lunching experience grumpy. We understand the business but we do expect the same courtesy for receptions as we also paying the same money as others. So the Grand Beijing is a thumb down, if any of you seek recommendation.

And didn’t actually go there till this day even though I’ve been around Kolpity for the past 2.5 years!The place doesn’t have great ambience but it does have its charm as well as live lobsters and crabs (poor guys, waiting got death).I had the boiled noodle with wonton (small) and it still ended up filling me to the brink! The fac[ that it tasted really good and decently authentic for a more Sri Lankan joint is great too! Price was reasonable for the portion size, costed me about 600 + taxes but it’s actually pretty worth it. The only thing is that it has odd opening hours which kinda sux when I have bad lunch habits and timings!Still overall, it’s a place I’m going to be takingy wife and also more friends in future!
Not happy at all with the quality of food served. We ordered hot and sour soup and fried noodles- both vegetarian. The soup was somehow ok but noodles were not at all good. Moreover they seved it while we were still having soup so these got cold by the time we ate it. Airconditioning was pathetic. We were sweating through out. Not recommended at all.
