This has been a strictly business lunch place for me. The choice of food has been painfully too predictable. They could do with some variations during the week. Maybe I was unlucky and had the same spread on the occasions I was there. I am not going to say anything particularl here is to die for like many other Sri lankan reviewers readily say, but once I thoroughly enjoyed the lamb stew.. (forget the correct name). Good choice of deserts and the choice of drinks are not bad but does not differentiate themselves as ‘Taprobane’ something uniquely Sri Lankan or traditional.

Whatever you crave for, find it at the spectacular buffet spread at Taprobane!We stayed at Cinnamon Grand Colombo for a few days last week and definitely didn’t feel the need to step out for a meal because Taprobane, their 24 hour all day dining restaurant had everything you’d ever imagine!From a humongous breakfast spread with a large variety of breads, cakes, fresh juices, Sri Lankan specialities like their special egg appam/soft iddiyappam, stews, curries, dosas and so much more, you’re in for a hearty treat!The lunch and dinner buffet too is a multi cuisine paradise! From melt in your mouth sushi to freshly made pasta, spicy Mongolian rice and noodles to vibrant curries the buffet spread is phenomenal.Special mention to their HUGE variety of desserts that will leave you spoilt for choice! From intricately made pastries to soft mousse, Local favourites like coconut barfis to International hits like cheesecakes, your sweet tooth is in for a party at Taprobane.The next time you’re in Colombo you absolutely have to go eat at Taprobane!Thecrazyindianfoodie recommends.
