Nana’s is one the many food stalls at Galle Face green serving local cuisine and some chinese. The server finds a place to sit, takes the order and quickly serves as well. I usually order Chicken Kottu, which is above average. Go there for their ambience, the smell of food and sea and the hustle bustle of Galle Face Green. A good experience.
Galle Face Green is a happening place at sunset but it’s mostly snack foods with only a couple of restaurant-type places (and the other one has Nana in the name, too). Nana’s charge for the privilege, 300-500 for kotthu – I got the mutton and it was ok but the mutton was chewy so maybe go for a vegetable one. They’re halal but they’ll happily sell foreigners beer wrapped in paper for a hefty 600. Still makes a good place to watch the sun go down. Just be careful with payment because they’ll try to scam you. Add up the cost yourself and only give exact change or they’ll try to take the rest as a tip and then stall on any change for as long as possible.

It all looks red and spicy but it’s not. I ordered sausages for a second time since the first time is so good but it was a letdown 🙁 They didn’t put chili flakes 🙁 I thought they would. It makes a lot of difference in taste so make sure you ask for chili flakes medium spicy.I asked for ice cubes for my soft drink because i HATE having soft drink from can/bottle. Needed to remind him for my cubes but after a while he brought it.Price is slightly xpensive for street food. The stall is beside the sea; after dinneit’s nice to have a walk or sit on the pavement facing the sea and enjoy the breeze.
A good place to hang out with friends and family. With lovely shore and air. Talking about the food & hygiene, The taste of the food is outstanding but the place & food both are not guaranteed in terms of hygienic. Once a month visit is a better choice to chose. But yes, can be a unforgettable night if you have the right dinner.
It’s open in the evening. OK OK place Its in galle face next to sea. Open till late night. Decent food options. You can try once this street food. Value for money, hygienic and I can bet we had grilled prawn, crab and mixed fried rice. Food was good. No stomach issues or anything
