  Was yearning to go here and finally did. The worst Chinese restaurant we’ve ever been to in Colombo. 1. The images on the menu and the dish were completely different 2. We said we didn’t want to eat it as it’s not what we ordered. They said they can’t replace but didn’t charge for it. At the end of the day we didn’t get one dish we wanted 3. The waiters said that they are the only authentic Chinese restraint in Colombo. So their food is good. Food is nothing authentic about it compared to proper authentic cuisine 4. Finally the people working their told us the Sri Lanka s are not the target market and they serve Chinese large crowds so most Sri Lankan’s who come to their restaurant regularly leave complaining. They were quite proud saying it.

  I’ve been a regular at Tang Dynasty but the worst experience today. I took away a dish of Boiled Beef and the taste was off and very bizarre. The beef tasted like chicken liver and you could crush the beef like you crush a potato and it would break apart. I immediately stopped eating. My only hope is that I won’t have food poisoning. This is my first bad experience with them but I doubt that I’ll ever go back.

  More of a Chinese only place, especially for VIP dinners. I went with some of my Chinese friends who were visiting Sri Lanka and they organized the whole thing. The menu is great, honestly – if you know what you’re looking for. The waiting staff is Sri Lankan while the managing staff is Chinese. The lady at the reception can’t understand English as far as I could see. She ignored us when we asked her for a takeaway menu (like a leaflet).

  I visited here to place an order and takeaway. They do accept cards, just ONLY VISA. This is my second visit here. The best thing about this place is that there are enough local staff to help and guide us, although it is typical for a Chinese restaurant to be crowded with Chinese. I’ve seen this happen at many Chinese restaurants. They are homesick, so they throng to these places.Since it was just a takeout I didn’t order much. I ordered a Seafood Fried Rice – small portion. The small portion is sufficient for 2 average adults.  I must say the portion had loads of shrimps. The cuttle fish (squid) and gherkins were cut into tiny pieces, the same size as cubed carrots. This ensured that every mouthful had plenty of those in it. I also must make a point that I didn’t taste MSG. Either they didn’t use it or it was used sparingly. I liked it very much. Even the sauces that were used were all used subtly.  I have just one complaint. The whole dish was dry. I would have preferred if some chillie paste  and/or some more of the awesome sauce that was mixed with it was included with it,Price – When I compare the price with similar items offered in other non- Sri Lankan restaurants (Asian), the price is more or less the same. I feel it was quite worth the price, especially when considering the price of prawns/ shrimps and cuttle fish in the open market and the quantity that was served with the small portion.Service wise, I can’t complain. I got good service. Even the Chinese lady who was the cashier and spoke fairly good English, was very polite and helpful.I’m hoping to visit again to try out other dishes.

  Went there for dinner appealed by a previous visit few days ago. Little did i know that it was more of a CHINESE ONLY restaurant the locals are not welcomed or entertained kind of place. And yes its in colombo, srilanka . Thank god for the polite local waiting staff managed to goble up the food . Why pay so much and looked down upon . Reminds me of british rule against Srilanka . I would recomend not set foot in this place nor encourage it.
