7 of us walked into this casual dining place. To our surprise the place turned out to be amazing. We got seats on the first floor. The ambience is very rustic with qppden walls and chairs. Gives a really good feeling.The place wasn’t crowded for a weekend. The staff were very friendly showing us their array of live crabs, prawns, lobsters and fish.The food is very good. One of the best seafood places in Colombo. I must say that its at par with Ministry of Crabs (another famous seafood place in Colombo). I felt that the cost was almost similar to Ministry of Crabs when it comes to live crabs.Must try the Crab and prawn starters. They are tasty. The lives ones are pretty delicious.
This restaurant reminded me of one I had been to in Malaysia a decade ago. You can choose the live crab (from a tank) that you want to have for your meal there so it just makes your experience there even more exciting. Beware the bill, you might wanna sell a kidney or two.
We ate here on our first evening in Columbo and were so impressed by the service and the food that we returned on our last evening-coincidentally our Silver Wedding Anniversary. It did not disappoint- once again the welcome was warm and the food delicious. The unexpected touch of the anniversary desert was a really lovely touch and even sent my husband to his knees- again- of course getting up again took a little longer than the first time round!
We were traveling from India and had called to check their closing time post confirmation from the staff we traveled across town to eat their famous crabs . Alas on our arrival before closing hours per zomato and the staff the manager Kevin declines to serve us saying “kitchen is close “ . Bad professional ethics is all I have to say , please treat your customers better
Ordered a take away of lumprais. It was my first time having this dish. A huge portion was provided with chicken and an egg, and a bit of brinjal too. It seemed pretty good as it had the right amount of spice.
