Well I live in Nawala so this place has some what become my default kottu joint aside from sensal.. A few years ago the place was terrible.. Not in terms of food but cleanliness.. There were these fly’s who’d fly all over the place and of course in the area where the cook makes the kottu.. One day I bought my self a kottu and when I came home and opened it there were a few fly’s in it.. Quite the non veg meal isn’t it? 😛 But the place did go through some renovation and a little things have changed here and there.. I did give the kottu another chance after I saw the changes in the restaurant.. Of course the kottu tastes great and they give you a lot for a reasonable price. But cleanliness and service is some what edgy! Hope to see more improvement in the future! And thank you for dealing with the bugs!/PS: the fried rice and roast chicken is amazing! Makes me want to go back for more.. I’m just not sure if that’s cause of the msg you put in the food or if the food is that good..
Being a nawala boy, this place has long been one of my haunts, from when it was just a 5 min walk from home, a stop on my bike ride or now as a stop on my way home from work.The atmosphere is bleah, standard kottu joint kind of surroundings, and the service is also the usual.Foodwise, the kottu is alright, but the hoppers and parata are pretty good, especially when hot hot. Currywise, they make a good parippu and a good potato curry, but the bistake is the best for sure.Not the cleanest of joints obviously but a pretty good and affordable place for sure, especially if like me you’ve been going there for eons.
