The food is a bit pricey compared to similar joints offering the same menu but taste is good so can’t really complain. It’s always a bustling place with enough seating areas. Good place for grabbing a quick meal.
On my last trip to Colombo, I had a chance to visit this place and it did not let me down. I ordered a rice and curry lunch as I had options to select from vegetable dishes. Sadly I couldn’t take photo to share here 🙁

Busy day don’t know what to eat and can’t be bothered to run around looking for food? Then Senkada is the ideal place for a quick working lunch with some good options. The menu is quite impressive. So far this is the number one option for rice and curry around town hall, for me.They have fried rice, biriyani, authentic sri lankan curries. For those with a mid afternoon craving for something spicy like a polos curry nice meat ball curry or mouthwatering fish curry with red rice mallum and dhal, then this is the ideal place.I have got lunch packs from here many times and each time was very satisfied. The queue gets long sometimes as people try to decide which curries to have from the many choices they have on display. You can’t have all but can choose about five veggies, meat and fish for a very reasonable price. There is also the option of soyameat, meat balls instead of e usual chicken/fish rice.If you have the time to stick for another 10 minutes then try one of their juices or faluda. You have to pay the bill first, then present your receipt to anyone at the food stall.Senkada has an underground car park but with limited slots. It’s also not spick and span, so you might want to rough it out if you having lunch at the place.
Tried this last Friday honestly I didn’t know what to expect but it was pretty good. They have a wide range from the basic rice and curry to Biriyani to also Noddles and Nasi for lunch. Service is pretty fast and is packed during lunch. Food wise I tried the Nasi which was a little dry but with fried chicken and some chopsuey. It wasn’t bad as I thought it would. I actually did enjoy my quick lunch. And given its location it’s really busy during lunch.
