  Came here today after a bad experience at Curry Leaves. This restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of Hotel Sapphire.When I arrived there were about 10 people gathered around 2 tables joined together, and another lonely customer at another table. I was really surprised that they thought I was an Indian woman. Perhaps, they thought I was one of their Indian guests in the hotel. Any way, the staff treated me well and were quite polite and helpful.The restaurant gave a stupendous view of the skyline around Wellawatte and I really enjoyed it. There was also a TV showing the India – Australia 5 day cricket match. I spent my time watching it until my lunch arrived.My order:=======Appetizers: Vegetable spring rollsMains: Golden palace fried rice with prawns, chicken and cadjunuts.Dessert: Fresh fruit saladPositives:========The spring rolls were piping hot and they were tasty. Unfortunately, I had to eat very slowly as I burnt my mouth eating them. Freshly produced tomato sauce was the accompaniment.The Fried rice was quite good. Didn’t come here with much expectation, but I was pleasantly surprised. A small portion was sufficient for 3 average persons. (WOW!!). It contained generous amounts of small shrimps and a few chicken cubes. However, I was extremely pleased there were plenty of fried cadjunuts. Accompaniments were chillie paste and soya sauce.The fruit salad consisted of fresh fruits – papaya, pineapple, apple and banana cubedThe service was 4 stars like the hotel. I requested them to pack the excess rice to take home, which they obliged.Negatives:========The restaurant must come up with a new scheme for serving customers. It was a case of first come first serve. The individual customer’s and my order were made ONLY after the large group’s order was completed. I dread to think what the situation would have been had there been a crowd in the restaurant. So, my appetizers came 45 minutes after I placed the order. That’s a long wait for the appetizers, and the mains after another 20 minutes.At one point, some of the staff didn’t know that I had already placed an order, and was asking again. The joke on me was the server forgot my order for dessert and I had to remind him. Note to the Management:======================The restaurant must come up with a mechanism where a customer’s order is recorded somewhere. Further, it is NOT FAIR to keep all customers waiting until the earlier customer’s orders are completed in full. Attempts must be made to ensure that all customers are attended to at the soonest instead of keeping them waiting for a long time.

  Rich atmosphere around. Lots of Muslim friends were there. Barman was not that skillful with liquors. A bit expensive than I thought. Appetiser & bite potions are smaller than other places.

  In the central of colombo 06. And quitely well built reputed place with chinese cuisine. Food is good and tasty and affordable price range . Mostly good with take away than dine in. Still better looking place to dine in.

  One of the best places in Colombo to have Chinese food. Golden Palace restaurant has its own signature Chinese mix fried rise which is so delicious. The tom yum soup is very tasty and would always go there to have Thai soup and Chinese food. The Singapore chilie crab is very scrumptious as well.
