Mallboden Cafe and Hostel has an idyllic location along the canal. Our facilities are also at the heart of Sweden's industry cradle, Motala Verkstad. The premises have been utilized for living quarters for the workers' and as storehouses where the maps for boat building was stored. Today in the storehouse is there a cozy cafe with home baked goodies, lunches and our famous waffles. The old living quarters is today a hostel with 8 apartments. Every summer the area is full of traveling people on the Gta kanal but also along it. Either you are traveling by boat or bike you can take a break at Mallbodens Cafe and hostel. Our caf has waffels as the speciality. Also homemade cookies, and some dishes like pie, lasagna, Ceasar salad and baked potatoes. Our hostel has 8 apartments were everyone has an equipped kitchen and bedroom for 3-5 persons. Totally we offer 29 beds. Along the Gta kanal we also offer 4 spots for our friends with campers. Very welcome to us.
