About
Bommen Restaurang & Bar is located on the site of one of Gothenburgs old toll gates. There has always been a restaurant at Torggatan 1 ever since the building was renovated in the 1870s. Bommens cooking combines Swedish ingredients with influences from near and far. Exquisite examples are fried turbot pot au feu on primeur vegetables; new potatoes in mussel broth; and crisp roast breast of duck served with savoy cabbage parcels filled with duck confit. Regulars include technicians, dressers, musicians and chorus members from the Gothenburg Opera, which is situated close by.Details

The restaurang is situated very close to Göteborgs Operan so you can relax, enjoy your stay and do not have to worry about trafic problems.
Stopped for a quick lunch. Very friendly waitress, good Swedish beer. The food was nothing to get exited about. Guess one can’t expect more from a brief visit.
I tried the fish soup, which was delicious; a bit small portion, but very tasty; I stayed for a dessert, which was also a bit smaller than I had anticipated, but I had a very pleasant dinner.
The food was delicious and the waiter very nice. She took the time to explain us the menus and recomended a very good local beer to us.
Well cooked lunch and nice staff. Opera after work (evenings) the last thursday of every month with original members of the Gothenburg opera with friends. Highly recommended!
