About
The restaurant was erected on the foundation of the village blacksmith that burnt down completely in the big fire of Grindelwald in 1891. Hence the name "Schmitte" for blacksmith. Tradition is very dear to us. Thus our kitchen team creates a unique combination of international, traditional Swiss and alpine cuisine. The Schmitte is also proud of its excellent wine cellar. A Piano-player creates a lovely background atmosphere.
