About
Established in the early 1900s, Auberge de la Mre Royaume is one of the oldest restaurants in Geneva. Its named after a mother of 14 who lodged herself in Swiss history on a dark night in 1602 when she poured a cauldron of hot soup over a soldier as the Dukes of Savoy launched a surprise attack on the independent city-state. The victory is still celebrated every year during Fete dEscalade, scenes of which are detailed in Auberge de la Mre Royaume impressive wood panelling. Combined with soft lighting, leather armchairs, and stained glass windows, it creates a wonderfully intimate Old World atmosphere. The inventive menu changes seasonally and features a handful of French classics. Service is polished.
