Park Hotel at Burgenstock, on a mountain 20 minutes from the center of Lucerne, reached by regular lakeboat and furnicular. Wonderful views, great for a little lunchtime excursion from Lucerne. The Burgenstock hotels were traditional grand hotels in the old days, now undergoing refurbishement. The Tintoretto restaurant near the main square where the furnicular arrives has a slightly Italian influenced menu. The food is well prepared and professionally presented. A short walk away is a very scenic and panaramic view of the lake. For his birthday, my husband didn't just want to have lunch, he wanted to go for a walk as well. This was a combination of a civilised lunch in scenic surroundings followed by a 1 hour 45 minute walk to work off the calories.
