Came here on recommendation from a friend – excellent recommendation. If you skip past the crowds to the fourth floor, you’re treated to a great view of The Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofya, above the bustle of Sultanahmet.Service is excellent without feeling like someone is hovering over you all the time. Food is great, moderately priced. The atmosphere is what makes this place – cool and calm in summer, nice,y decorated, and well situated for stunning views – an oasis in the bustle of Sultanahmet
This delicious restaurant complete with stunning Turkish lamp installation ceiling is located right by two of Istanbul’s most iconic sights and as such made it the perfect lunch spot post a morning of touring. All the food here was wonderfully flavoursome but I did feel a bit unwell after, hubs was fine however and we did eat the same thing so perhaps that shouldn’t perturb you
This restaurant is located in the Sultanamet area of Istanbul. Basking on the glory are Turkeys two most iconic wonders, the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. We were on a day tour and the lunch was included in the itinerary. The tour operators brought us to Omar and the place had a lovely vibe. Since it was a set menu, we ordered both the Kebap as well as the chicken Tikka. Both came with rice, fries and some salad. The food was good and the service prompt. They have good choice in the menu as well as in the bar. Loved the ceiling and that is why I have added some pics that would be of interest.
Good food but very rude attendants. The attendant spoke more than me and for me during my order and was very impolite. Luckily, our tour guide could defuse the situation and we were served good food which compensated for the behaviour. Would love to go back for the food but hope the staff is better this time around.
