Nadiren tek yada iki yıldız verdiğim mekanlardan. Eski oluşuna ve yorumlara bakıp gittim ama pişman oldum. Sebze çorbaları sanırım dünden kalan yemek malzemeleriyle yapılmış tuz deryasıydı. Köfte kokuyordu yağı donmuştu. Fırında makarnada buz gibiydi malesef. Beykoz kebabı fena değildi. Onun hatırına yıldızlar..
I asked our local tour guide (who was taking a group of us to an Indian restaurant) where he would go if he wanted to have a good Turkish meal. He directed me to Selvi, at Taksim square, and I will forever be thankful ! The moment you enter the restaurant, you realize that it is a no-nonsense, good food place, with little emphasis on the ambience (but the crowd of locals gives you a good vibe about the food that's yet to come!). I absolutely loved the pistachio kebabs, the and the mince plate. I was dining alone, so did not get to try more, but I'm hoping to be back there again when I'm in Istanbul.Tip: I was there during the holy month, and they did not serve alcohol till late. They also only serve beer, to the best of my knowledge.

When I was in taksim last time, selvi was my home food away from home, though not lebanese cuisine but very homey and tasty. Loved it and suret recommend it!
