We were led to this restaurant by a man on the street who hassled us and pushed us in the direction. He was adamant that there was ‘complimentary’ food and discounts and that ‘money won’t be a problem.’ So as a party of 9 we sat down at the table. They then proceeded to ‘recommend’ to us many different dishes without telling us the prices – still insisting that money wasn’t an issue. We ended up with an extremely oversized meat and fish platter that was not exactly what was promoted to us. The meat platter consisted of basic chicken and meat kebabs. We ate, however did not manage to get through the whole platter. When presented with the bill it cost 2,800 lira (roughly £430). They then claimed that this price is normal for the fish platter, REGARDLESS of the fact that we were pushed in the direction of ordering these exact dishes and the prices were not at all mentioned or written on the menu. As well as this, the promised complimentary mezzes were fully charged for on the bill. We were then forced to pay by credit card which had a limit on and therefore had to pay the bill in 3 separate transactions which meant extra currency charges. This restaurant was misleading and is a con for tourists. I would not recommend it at all.
This place is a scam. I wish I read the other reviews before going there. I think they do that with all tourists. When they take your order, they pretend not understanding what you say and then end up getting you an overpriced overcharged billed. If you are considering it, don’t ever go there.
