Barba Vasilis, is a small Greek taverna&restaurant, situated in the historical Balat district of Istanbul, in the ground floor of a boutique hotel, Troya Balat. The manager, Vasilis, born in Istanbul as a member of the local Greek minority, spent his life both in Turkey and Greece. After finally returning to Istanbul, his beloved city, Vasilis wanted to do what he loved most, and opened BrbaVasilis, in a district of Istanbul, Balat, where 'Istanbullu's (Istanbulers) from all ethnic backgrounds used to live, as well as a sizeable Greek minority. Soon after the opening, the Greek mezes, grilled octopuses, and other selected dishes which Vasilis cooked loyal to the heritage of the local Greek cuisine, had become a favorite of 'Istanbullu's.Details

It is a real Greek restaurant with delicious sea food. The owner wellcame us and he did his best to give us the best place. Food is fresh and perfect. Thanks to the all team
