From going absolutely downhill a few years ago, Ikea restaurant has made a bit of a revival. The food is wholesome and tasty again. We tried the meatballs and mashed potatoes with gravy. The meatballs were moist and flavorful and the gravy had some depth of flavor. We also tried the chicken escalope which won the day as it was super crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It came with a generous serving of freshly boiled vegetables. On a critical note, I used to love their salmon dishes here, but now though they still serve it, the portions are super small with the Salmon hardly taking center stage. All in all a good dining experience.
A trip to IKEA is never complete without a meal at their restaurant! Sometimes I’ve found silly excuses to go to IKEA, just to eat at their kitchen (don’t judge, I’m sure I’m not the only one) On one such trip, we ordered: surf and turf, the legendary swedish meatballs, the salmon fillet, cheese sticks, chicken strips, breaded shrimp, carrot cake, chocolate cake, a caesar salad and a salad from their salad bar.My favorites from this meal were the salad bar salad, the meatballs (duh), the salmon and the cakes! The surf and turf was a little disappointing. Overall, the meal was slightly cold.Eating at the IKEA kitchen has always been an experience. From picking up food in trays like a school cafeteria to their bottomless drinks, everything adds to the joy of a meal. I’m definitely going to keep coming back here!
I always love to eat at IKEA and this time too we decided to have carrot cake. It was how I always like my carrot cake, not too sweet and getting the crunchiness from carrots in the cake. We also had ice tea and coffee which you get for AED 7 refillable. Got a nice and cozy corner seats to relax and have your coffee.
