I had a Saudi kitchen Mandi long before, that was really great. some days before my Boss was in the mode to eat Mandi with me so I suggested we can go to Saudi Kitchen. we normally usetoo go Najd Place, But here I want to confess that Najad Place is better the Saudi Kitchen in terms of taste and in terms of price too. The authentic Saudi place is a must try for family in big groups. It is a pure gastronomical experience. Mandi, Madhbi and mutton madhfoon are must tries.The madhbi is really good.The chocolate kunafa is an absolute winner. Makes u crave for more.Ambience is also really good and so is the service.Definitely a repeat visit for sure. Highly recommended.
Decided to try Saudi Kitchen in Mushrif for dinner.The restaurant is situated bang opposite the Mushrif mall in picture perfect settings. There is seating inside and outside the restaurant. We were ushered upstairs to a well appointed private room that simply oozes rustic charm in keeping with the local culture.Ambiance 5/5Service is warm and friendly. The servers are all dressed in quaint local attire and are knowledgeable about the cuisine. Service is 3 / 5 We ordered the following:An Arabic salad – which is a small bowl of fresh vegetables in olive oil. 3/5 The meat Madhfoon with Zurbian rice – We wanted to order the meat Zurbian, but our server recommended we try the madhfoon with Zurbian rice which is what we did. The meat was simply superb and one of the best I’ve ever tried. Fall of the bone tender with the right mix of lean and fatty meat. My issue was with the rice. They practically served the dish with Mandi rice and two pieces of potatoes and claimed it to be Zurbian rice. Zurbian rice is very aromatic and is prepared with saffron, cardamom, cumin, coriander, cloves, turmeric, ginger, black pepper and orange blossom water. It is served with fried onions and toasted nuts. I’ve only been eating it for 25 years, but what do I know? [I’ve rated the service 3/5 because she tried to convince me that the rice was zurbian]The meat 5/5 and the supposed Zurbian Rice which was actually Mandi rice 2/5The chicken Mandi – There are many variations of the Mandi recipe. Mandi translates literally means ‘dew like’ referring to the tenderness of the chicken. The leg and thigh were tender, but the rest of the chicken was stringy. 2/5For dessert we ordered the cheese Kunafa. Generous amounts of cheese and pistachios. 4/5Would I go back for the food? Probably not, but I would definitely go back if I had out of country guests and I wanted to give them a local dining experience in a very nice middle eastern setting.
Few days we had ordered Chicken Madhbi from Saudi Kitchen. We already had tried few times before from here so we are aware of the authentic taste they offer. So, we ordered one Chicken Madhbi with Madhbi rice and other Chicken Madhbi with Mandi Rice. It was perfectly packaged. Food was quite hot when delivered. Quantity was great and two of them are more than enough for 3 persons.
