Weekday all-you-can-eat dim sum brunch a must try and huge value for money. 115 AED per person, 25% off if you are a shangrila golden circle member. I’m Chinese and found the dim sum authentic and palatable. Went there on the mid-autumn festival and reminded me of hometown food. Soup and tea are the highlights. Steamed Baozi was a little overcooked and the juice was out. Apart from that, all foods were superb. The Chinese waitress/waiter were also amicable. Will def go back.
Came to shang palace for all you can eat dimsum with friends there’s no regret spending less than 130dhs for good quality of dimsum (the actual price was 95++ ) jelly fish salad blooming my mind and all the food just so yummy , just bit disappointed with soup less xiao long bao , but the tea man just pamper me with free flow Chinese tea which cleanse your palate after you eat the dimsum.

Totally being generous with the 2 stars. Went for a business lunch I was so excited and super looking forward to dining at this beautiful restaurant with a delicious sounding menu. First things first it’s a small dim sum type menu where you tick what you want and how many items. So I ordered within 15mins. There was then a 30mins wait for us to receive 2 small dim sum size dish. The short ribs was all fat so no one touched that. There was then another 15mins wait for two dumplings to come out that were so over cooked we couldn’t even get them out the bamboo basket they were stuck to the bottom and crumbled. I then spoke to the waitress and said this is a business lunch and we’ve only had about 3 dishes – it’s our first time here and my friends birthday. To which she replied ‘were busy with other tables’ I looked around there where 3 other tables. There was a lot of staff and waitresses it just seemed none of them were interested. We ended up cancelling the food and going back to work hangry in total spent 1 hour and 40 mins with 4 dishes being served in total- remember small dim sum size . The manager for the other restaurant assisted us and was really sympathetic and handled the whole situation really well. I don’t know if Shang is less popular than sofra and hoi Ann (because those two restaurants are fantastic) and that’s why the service is just too below shangri la standards. The waitresses all need training I found them very passive and unprofessional. The chef in the kitchen needs training in cooking dim sum. I don’t understand how you offer a dim sum business lunch and all the dumplings are ether over cooked or under cooked and hard. Love the manager that assisted us. But would never go back again and would never recommend. such a shame
The restaurant is within the Shangri-La hotel on the waterway and has indoor and outdoor seating. The dim sum deal has a wide variety although a bit steep in price. Staff are polite and friendly. Sweet and sour shrimp is delicious and so is the lobster.
As much as I enjoyed the food I must say that the service was really poor .. the noodle in chicken broth, mushroom took around 55 minuets to come, please correct me if I am wrong but that’s way too long for a soup.
