Whoever says cafeteria food can’t be good is surely mistaken. It really amuses me how cafeteria food has actually permeated into the local culture here as it is cheap, convenient and sometimes quite delicious. Al Fatah Al Ainawi serves some of the best cafeteria food I have ever tried, at least here in Al Ain. Their menu is not much different from that of others, but if you are talking quality, they are far superior. One thing I have noticed is the freshness of the ingredients they use – the chicken is always flavorsome and tender, and ACTUALLY crispy. They seem to cook everything to order (no reheat stuff here, as most others do). When you get the food, even after delivery, it is so hot you have to wait for it to cool off a little. On the negative side, they are extremely slow. They are very busy with home orders and deliveries, so expect a fair waiting time (definitely worth it). Their fries could be better too, I have to say. If you are ever in Al Ain and you crave cafeteria food at 4AM, hit up Fatah Al Ainawi – they are awesome.
