I’ve been coming here for over 2 years. My first couple of experiences deserved a higher rating but the quality of food has since dipped, but I still enjoy my dumplings and sushi. Their ramens are not the best, but overall it’s a good food experience.
I visited Toki last evening. I was the only one in the restaurant when I entered approx 8 pm, but 2 tables came in after me. The hostess/server greets you nicely in Japanese, asks whether you’d prefer open table or private rooms, then offers you the menu. As in many Asian restaurants, they have this small buzzer that you can ping when you need service.I had the Asahi beer, edamame soup, chicken tatsute (I hope I spelt that right) & the sashimi platter for my dinner. The beer was served chilled, with a frosted glass on the side, so you can pour yourself. They serve you a gratis portion of cucumber-crab rice roll with pickled ginger, soy & wasabi. The edamame soup was creamy, slightly sweet & brilliant. The chicken appetiser really didn’t impress me. Perhaps I’m not used to that preparation, there was nothing wrong with it per se. I just found the taste bland & the pieces a bit too big to enjoy with chopsticks. The sashimi platter consisted of salmon, tuna & snapper. The plastic container in which they delivered the toothpicks looked really cheap & out of place. Otherwise, the restaurant looks minimal & classy. Billing was quick & efficient. The service is friendly.
It’s the first time for me to know about restaurant as well as my first time to try it out. I just felt like having Japanese food and searched for the ones we have in Alain and i found it out. Overall it was a good experience and will come back when i feel like having Japanese Food . I loved their Crab Stick Cocktail . You get what you paid for as they say
To be honest , this is the only restaurant I’ve been to that truly deserves a full 5 out of 5. I’ve been there over 20 times and it never seems to disappoint . The first thing I love about this place is when you first walk in your welcomed with the most wonderful and cheerful waiters who have a smile on their faces at all times , second they offer you a free sample with two pieces of sushi. I’ve tasted a lot of sushi in my days but this by far the best sushi I have ever tasted. Last time I visited toki I decided to order something new and try different options out and I ordered the Tum yum soup with ramen and many other varieties of foods, and I can clearly say that everything on the menu is amazing!! Thank you toki for always delivering the best quality food and wonderful service. I recommend this place to everyone .
Love the sushi and the food Wow. The decor and the place suggested as you are in traditional Japanese table, but small. But the service is too slow. The opening hours is too short and just from 6to 11pm,why I want to have lunch there. The price is too high. Please consider the opening hours, the price and add more in the menu we need to see more plats and drinks that reflect Japanese food but no pork please
Authentic sushi experience. Food taste great and menu is quite wide. Prices are a bit expensive but then again you pay for what you get. The food is defenetly worth the price as it is marvellous. Service is always to the top. Love this place
