The starters were served cold and tasted like they were made over night and kept. Kai chicken was smelly couldn’t even stand near that counter. I felt only the deserts were ok. All and all very bad experience will surely not recommend for anyone, not for any parties.
Cold buffet, tasteless food and super old n dingy interior. It can truly be called as party nightmare.
The restaurant is popular with the office crowd and a lot of Asians and Arabs do frequent this cosy restaurant. They have a large selection of salads and a nice selection of Asian, Indian, Arabic and a smattering of Continental dishes. Their dessert selections include Arabic, Indian and continental. The restaurant is famous for the great value buffet, but I must say that the prices have crept up slowly over the years and certain dishes like the Lamb Ouzi have been cut from the menu to cuts costs. The prices vary from weekdays to weekends. Its slightly more expensive for lunch and dinner on weekends. They also have a decent selection of Desserts. For the price you pay, the buffet is great value for money and ticks all the right boxes though I do wish they would bring their lamb dishes back. Kids pay half price for the buffet.
This is a place which was first introduced to me by a friend for her babyshower. We loved the food. I have been there 5 times already. Lovely spread of buffet. The first floor has great veg and non veg options in Indian and Chinese and the salads and dips and desserts are very nice too. My kid loves the jelly over there.
After years came back to Caravan in order to write my review which was not available back then :pAnyways, spread is satisfying with few varieties from few Asian places dominated though by Indian. My favorite I must say is Kai chicken wings and salt + pepper fish.I feel the price was slightly high but I guess it’s weekend rates.Taste was good. Though few items I felt was a tad coldRecommended to try .Quality and quantity was good.
I decided to explore the buffet menu at Caravan since I heard a lot about them. They have two sections, one at the ground floor and the other one at the first. The first floor had a mix of Chinese, indian and other cuisines and hence decided to sit upstairs. Starting with salad, it was good. Soups were mediocre but the starters were amazing. Chicken malai tikka stood out. I noticed one thing that the usage of salt in their food is minimum, which is great for people who consume less salt, for others, you can always add as per your taste. Butter chicken stood out and so did the biryani. And omg, gulab jamuns were yummy. A good place and a good food considering the price point. Improvement on variety of food is needed. My suggestions would be that if you keep indian food, don’t keep too many dishes from one part of India, in our case it was more of South Indian dishes. You should have one Maharashtrian, one Punjabi, one Gujarati and so on – make it like a mixed generic indian cuisine instead of a specific one. Overall, you should give it a shot!
You can find wide variety of food for buffet and it is very tasty and neatly arranged. This is very pocket friendly and a place we can arrange office parties.
