Groupon deal is great. Shabu Shabu has a different style compared to Hotpot because they have fresh eggs in the ingredients. Staffs are accommodating and friendly. Nice ambiance. Easy to find. Valet parking is free.
A long awaited dinner with friends was a delight to our eyes, taste buds and aroma senses too !They sport a rather ordinary dinner buffet with limited options but we opted for their signature Shabu Shabu dinner broth instead.Served in a pot on the electric cooker built in our table, condiments such as chicken breast, shrimp balls, veggies and an amazing sauces platter. We cooked our own broth live, and the aroma of the strong asian flavors just took over our senses!Do try their Shabu Shabu broth the experience is worth the money !
We are the only customer arrived for dinner so ok we own the resto for tonight but maybe after an hour customers started to came in. We initially plan of ordering their hotpot and grill offer but we are too hungry tonight so to the last minute we changed our mind and try their buffet. Salad and dessert counter have limited options. Crispy beef is not crispy anymore even the veggies it became dry. Chicken noodles with vegetables is delicious. Mongolian beef and chicken curry are good. I enjoyed the prawn crackers and thier condiments. Better to come back for hotpot and grill combo next time.
Discount Information: Entertainer coupons for buy one, free one main course. BUT WE DIDN’T USE THEM. See below for the reason. So, I got a bunch of friends together, wanting to eat some Thai food, thinking we could use our three Entertainer coupons at Keway-Mai, which would give us 6 main courses for the price of 3, all divided by 7 people. That way, we would have lots of variety to share, and still pay a great price. Then we got there, took one look at the charming little dinner buffet for aed49 per person (including mineral water), and everyone abandoned our original plan! :)Then, we ate to our hearts content from the pocket- and tummy-friendly selection, which consisted of the following:Salad bar: sweet-sour-spicy beef salad, beansprouts salad with cabbage and black fungus, fresh cuts of cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, corn kernels, a sambal chili sauce (I don’t know the Thai name, but in Malay, it’s sambal belacan, or chili with bagoong in Tagalog), and other dressings.Mains: fried fish with sweet chili sauce dip, garlic chicken, green beef curry, pad thai, sauteed garlic vegetables.Accompaniments: fragrant long-grain rice, chicken-onion-noodle broth, bread rolls, shrimp crackers with sweet chili sauce as dip.Desserts: Fresh cut watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe, whole bananas, apples, oranges and grapes; blueberry cake, and a light creme caramel/flan. (I did make a suggestion, which was for the chefs to include at least one or two Thai desserts, like the yummy mango with sticky rice)All that food for aed49 per person? It was a no-brainer which also turned out to be fresh, delicious and fulfilling. Mind you, some of the dishes like the beef salad and the beansprout salad, were quite spicy hot, so that’s when you reach out for the bread and rice and broth to absorb the hotness, followed by some cool, sweet fruit to cool things down. All this came in a very clean, cosy, and classy ambiance with excellent service from Miss Maridel and Miss Rowena, our servers.Next time we come, if we are less hungry, we will use the Entertainer coupons. Or if we are hungry and it’s earlier in the day, we could come for the aed39 lunch buffet!
The restaurant is located in a Hotel that does not serve alcohol. Yes, thats the first thing i noticed :)A good ambience and a not so busy (since the air conditioning had problems that day) restaurant offers Thai and other Asian cuisine. We ordered for Vegetable Satay, Thai Red Curry with Vegetables, Bean Curd in Peanut sauce and Jasmine rice. The Red curry was really unusual, probably because the veggis used were not Thai origin. The Bean curd and Veg Satay with condiments on the other hand were fantastic. For dessert, the only choice available that day from the menu was the Fried banana, supposedly with vanilla ice cream. After waiting for 10 mins we were informed that vanilla ice cream was out of stock, and we had to leave with less calories on us :-)Well, overall, service, food and the Price was reasonable. The only reason im giving them a 3.5 is because the Air Conditioning was under maintenance (pretty warm) and the hotel had no alcohol. Do try them when around. Cheers :))
brought our family for a dinner in here..the ambiance was warm to everyone..a little dim of lights which gives a romantic effect. foods were awesome which includes filipino cuisines as well like kare-kare, ginataan, steam tilapia and fruit salad. they also had thier live cooking station which gives you a variety of seafood, noodles and vegetables to choose from, for them to cook for you on the spot. appetizers were also great. will be surely keep coming to this place wherein is surely presentable to anyone you wished to bring with you! two thumbs up!
Keway Mai is one of the lesser known Asian restaurants in Abu Dhabi. Maybe its my impression, but somehow one does not hear of it so often. I am always on the look out for new/different places to eat out and this combined with my fondness for Asian cuisine took us to Keway Mai. The restaurant is a part of the City Seasons hotel and easy enough to find. The ambience is nice and sophisticated with a distinct Asian feel to it. We ordered the Tom Kha Chicken soup, Penang curry, Fried Rice and Pad Thai noodles. The service took a little bit of time as we waited for about 25 minutes for our food to arrive. The food preparation at Keway Mai is different from all the other Asian Restaurants that I have been to in Abu Dhabi. The Penang curry was on the sweeter side and had potatoes in it. The pad thai had plenty of peanuts and bean sprouts and the Tom Kha was also on the sweeter side. Overall not unpleasant, however very different. Maybe this is the reason why I am giving it a 3 rating, because they served food which differed from what my taste buds were expecting, but nevertheless I would encourage people to try out Keway Mai if they are looking for a different take on Asian cuisine.
