Ponderosa Restaurant is situated in the Ground Floor of the Hamed Center on Electra Street.The good news is that this restaurant has had a much needed refurbishment over the past Year or so. The restaurant is a lot brighter and pleasant.The service is still friendly and efficient.The bad news is that the food is still the same, and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Well, maybe a little bit.I have always felt that Ponderosa though a Tex Mex restaurant tries to please ‘everybody’ by serving up a little of Tex Mex, Arabic, Chinese, Indian, Italian and even Filipino dishes, and this is where I feel they fall short. ‘Decide on a theme and stick with it’, would be my advice.Having said that, the Taco’s and Tortilla’s are good and the salad bar is adequate. They serve 3 kinds of chicken wings – BBQ Honey, broasted and Indian, and are awesome. They have a large and extensive A-La-Carte menu, but its the All You Can Eat buffet that is the main attraction.Desserts are limited, but they have an antique ice cream dispenser and you can have unlimited ice cream if you can get it to work!!My pet peeve with this restaurant is that they don’t have conventional dinner plates. They have what resembles a smaller side plate necessitating many trips to the buffet station.They have an A La Carte menu and do sell a selection of steaks and Tex Mix dishes.Not too shabby a choice if you’re craving Tex Mex.
This place is my favourite for 10 years now but in last 2 visits i was upset, the food is not like before in freshness and cleanliness and taste also the dinning hall and toilets are not clean and need renovation. Hope they will work on themselves to improve the food and place and to return like before.
The buffet served here is value for money. They have wings and tortillas and a couple of other continental dishes. The wings are really yum and most of the stuff on the lay was tasty. The desserts are okay, but ice cream would make up for it. It’s a good place to get together with friends
We got a chance to go to the Ponderosa Steak House for lunch buffet. It had all varieties of cuisines in unlimited amounts. We tried a few dishes from each cuisine but we still couldn’t try all. We recommend everyone to try this place out, the food quality is amazing.
Me and my family love this place. The buffet spread doesn’t really change but the chicken makes it worth it for me. I can gorge on those fried chicken and buffalo wings forever. They also added grilled chicken and it’s just heaven.Also, I’m sorry if I don’t know the name of the manager but he’s very friendly. Speaks fluent tagalog which is cool.
I love the food and the place. Even you dont order a you can avail just the buffet. Food is nice and tasty. So many to choose from. I wish there is a big parking lot nearby.
I have gone with mg filipino friends for birthday party there.It is pleasant place to get together have food.Their buffet is pocket friendly and tasty too.
