This was my first Arabic fine dine experience and I must say the place and the food truly lived upto my expectations. The hotel Emirates Palace in itself is the epitome of luxury and decadence. And this restaurant a fist of its kind emirati dining space completely blew us away. The food was authentic and served with a lot of love and care. The preparation truly exemplified the ingredients used and the flavours were mild yet we couldn’t get enough. Must try includes their salads, freshly made flat breads, assorted mezze and desserts. Don’t forget to wind up with an Arabic cuppa.
One of the worst restaurant experiences ever, chicken expired and get sick after dinner the rice was terrible. Avoid this restaurant not worst it
Specifically stopped by here to try the camel. The restaurant is located within Emirate Palace, which was a really beautiful place to look around. The palace reeked of opulence and extravagance which was very different from what I’m used to. After getting to the restaurant with my booking, I was served doughnuts, dates and special coffee. The doughnuts were really amazing. I had the choice for inside or outdoor dining and opted to eat outside. The outdoor area had booths with very comfortable seats. After getting the menu I did feel like I was forgotten for a bit. Due to its location, it was hard to get anyone’s attention without having to leave the table. After getting to order, the item I wanted wasn’t available so I ended with going with the other camel dish. I was also recommended the camel milk with dates. The camel milk was interesting. It didn’t have a strong milk flavour but that could have been due to the dates. It was kinda hard to drink though since the date pieces kept getting stuck in the straw. I started with the veal harees, which was like a meat pate. The meat was spiced very delicately but the texture was a bit weird for me, almost gummy. It did go really well with the pita bread. The pita bread was delicious. I found the camel chop a bit dry. The vegetables that came with it were seasoned and cooked well. I had the angel hair and kashta for dessert. There was a pistachio and honey parfait on one side and angel hair filled with cream and topped with chocolate on the other. Both items were nice. The food was made well but it wasn’t something that I would go for again, particularly due to the price. Service was really nice when they were there, but that could have been due to the time, as I arrived there quite late (2130). Overall it was an interesting experience.
Visited this place twice only for my all-time favourite which is their mughrabia with scallops! it’s highly recommended for it’s rich luxurious flavour and texture. I also had the emirati raghab bread which is average, nothing extraordinary. The orange date cheesecake is really good too and not too sweet. I just had my birthday and my friend requested to have a happy birthday dessert–the Choco Mousse was served and we were told that it has camel milk that’s why it’s an exquisite dessert. Staff are all friendly and accomodating.
We had a family lunch in Mezlai on a Saturday afternoon and reading the reviews here on zomato I haven’t had expectations. We were sitting outside in the beautiful garden which was convenient to have a small walk around until the main course arrived. I loved everything that was served especially the harees and the chicken dishes. The fish came in a big pot of rather a runny sauce which was truly a shame because it was too much sauce almost like a soup. Food quality was very good but I agree that the prices are too high. I wouldn’t come back unless I’m invited.
I like this location and have been there few times now. This is next to Fanr the other good restaurant for Emirati food. A good place to go with Emirati friends.
The interior and atmosphere are great. On the other hand, the food wasn’t anything special. We ordered three types of biryani, shrimp, lamb and veggie. They were all below average and not that great in taste. The best thing about it aside from it’s location is the arabic coffee and lugaimat. Also, the prices are too high for it’s below average food. This restaurant seems like a waste to this beautiful location.
