I come to this cafe almost every week with my friends, it’s one of our go-to places for good coffee and food (although usually experienced an upset stomach after eating non-veg items from here unfortunately).My order is almost always a hot cup of mocha & they always get it right, even with some great latte arts. The cafe has different blends of coffee each day & we can choose which blend we want our drinks made from, which is a really good option to have.
Visited for breakfast and the service was impeccable the staff was extremely friendly and got out orders right. As far as the food, we had salmon on toast and eggs avo-benedict. The food was great and so was the coffee. The price to me seemed on the high side but given the ambience, location and decor its understandable how that could be. Overall we would definitely visit again it was a pleasant experience.
I honestly don’t know how to describe this undeserving award winning restaurant. I went there for dinner and had a grilled cheese sandwich. The simplest dish ever that mothers make for their kids in 5 mins. And this abomination came out. A combination of lulu’s bread, average tasting cheese and a small amount of butter. Grilled cheese is usually made in a pan even if they made it the wrong way, they could have at least toasted the bread. This mysteriously cost 55 aed and i dont know how or why. They used cheap bread I won’t even pay 20 aed for this. I had grilled cheese in denny’s and they properly made it with a better quality bread and its way cheaper than this? How can an award winning restaurant mess up such a simple dish and charge u so much for bad quality food? I did complain and the manager got them to make it the right way which is why i have them 2 stars instead of 1. But that didnt fix the quality.
I’ve visited Joud Cafe yesterday for lunch. We started with the sliders and fried calamari. Sliders were really good. However, the fried calamari was a huge disappointment. Not crunchy and undercooked which made it very chewy. We also ordered the kale cesar salad and Californian sandwich. The salad was by far the worst salad I’ve ever had. Chicken was soooo overcooked and dry along with the bacon pieces which made it absolutely inedible since it was cutting my throat with it’s tough sides. No enough dressing and croutons were not crunchy at all. The sandwich was average but need to go easy with the mustard next time cause that’s all I tasted.
