Quality of the food is bestChicken was tender and nicely cookedBut the service was bit slowCould not enjoyed as there was cockroaches inside
We went to spend a weekend in Sheraton resort chroniche and we dinned in el sombrero. The place is full of life and nice atmosphere. They have a live band on Friday that makes u move your feet and enjoy nice latin music. The waiters are friendly and professional. Food is average, we ordered a mix of appetizers out of which the best is the quasadilla and nachos. Fajita were average but their margaritas are good. Overall we enjoyed our time and had fun. Cheers
Head out to El Sombrero to liven up a dull weekday!Intimate cozy ambience and live lively music already set the mood right before we were ambushed by all the lovely food to offer. Unusually, it took us almost 15 minutes to finalise our menu from the varied tex-mex delicacies on offer! A must try is the tortilla soup, prawn Camerones diablito and the sombrero fajitas (mix or beef- both were good) quantity of food gives good value for money , and freshness of ingredients reflected in its taste as well. That was my checklist completely ticked! We were too stuffed to even think about dessert, which is just easily an excuse to go back.Note: not kid friendly and the music is a bit on the louder side which does not give much room for conversation. But trust me, once the food arrives it does not require much conversation because you will be busy enjoying the explosion of flavours.
We did not have a reservation, but despite it being the weekend, and busy, and being a restaurant in a hotel, the staff was able to secure us a table.+ Live band, the band itself is not superb and they play a variety of songs, but when you come with kids, it is pleasantly entertaining.+ The food in general was very tasty, especially the shrimps flambeed with tequila at the table and the braised lamb that was suggested by the staff were succulent- The ceviche of shrimp and squid turned out to be a salad, which wasn’t very tasty, I thought a ceviche was supposed to be cold and with raw fish, this was lukewarm with cooked scampi and squid.- Not all staff was equally attentive, it took a long time to be noticed at the entrance when we entered, it took even longer before we got a menu, but once we had ordered everything went smoothly, until the time of payment came and again there was nobody to help out, we could have literally walk out without payment.Overall there is a great selection of dishes to choose from. Definitely would recommend it if you like authentic Mexican food.
The food is incredible. The chef came out to speak with me. This is home food based on family recipes and is more authentic than anything experienced in the UAE in 13 years of living here. I only have 1 word for the food. Fantastic
Every Wednesday, this is our spot. Amazing fajitas and margaritas! Pavan, the cheerful bartender, does an excellent job. Don‘t forget to give love to the house band!
I don’t know what changed, I think there is a new chef but I went to this place a year ago and did not like the food. But I came last night for taco Tuesday and it was amazing. The tacos were real original meixcan style. I can’t wait to go back and try some more of the food.
