I went this evening to Andaz for the Iftar. For this year, it is taking place in the ground floor Art Gallery, which is actually a really nice setting for it. Lots of local art mixed in amongst the diners, providing some rare culture in the midst of Iftar dining. The atmosphere is calm and relaxed, which can not be said for most Iftars. The service is quick and the head chef is pacing the floor hoping that he can help you decide where to start. The buffet is just big enough to have some nice options without overwhelming, AND while managing to include some of the most creative Iftar dishes yet. Try dipping your falafel in the tahina fountain, or maybe you want to try the beautiful falafel waffle with a scoop of savory hummus ice cream. Very modern and interesting. There are also, of course, all of the great classic dishes and loads of desserts too. My favorite was the cheese kunafe pocket. Wow! If only I had saved a little more space! So delicious. facebook.com

I booked an afternoon tea for a surprise tea party. The staff were very helpful and accommodated our request for a personalized birthday cake slice. The canapes, scones and sweets were very nice. They even had a good selection of teas. Needless to say my friend was very surprised and happy with what we had.

Came here for afternoon tea. Did not stand up to my expectations. I think the menu is pretty much the same everyday. The scones were a bit too dense but loved the lemon curd and apricot preserve ( They also had strawberry preserve and clotted cream) The place was empty, and they gave us the option of being seated at the Library which was nice. But apart from the library, the seating arrangement doesn’t look very comfy.

I came here with my mother in law for afternoon tea and we had a lovely time. The food was delicious – brioche sandwich with chicken, some sort of brown oat cake with salmon, and cucumber sandwiches. The desserts were delicious – especially the mini custard tart topped with blueberries and a mini chocolate cone filled with some sort of mango mousse/cream. We were stuffed by the end so couldn’t finish the chocolate cake and the Battenberg – probably our least favourite, but we enjoyed the afternoon very much!
